Congress has been asked by PMG Jack Potter to suspend the requirement for 6 day delivery. I know that in some regards my job would be much less stressful not having to worry about substitute carriers or clerk issues. Many Saturdays we end up working, or helping deliver a route, or answering questions and solving problems over the phone. What would a worry-free weekend be like?

Great topic Lori
Well first off a worry free weekend would not be the result of 5 day delivery. The day most likely to not deliver mail would be Tuesday(although I would suggest Wednesday to avoid three non-delivery days in a row with a Monday holiday). It also not make sense to close the window on the day that we are not delivering. That would inhibit revenue opportunities. Customers being allowed to collect mail at the window(maybe for a fee) on the non delivery day might be a good idea.
Of course I think this is all for naught. Mr. Potter does not want his legacy to be the first Postmaster General to lay off employees or that of the man who started a 5 day delivery schedule. If and only if it happened, it would be temporary.
Of course these are my opinions and may not be worth the price you paid for them.
