Good Afternoon:
Effective Tuesday, January 27th you will no longer be authorized the use of PTFclerk/PMR hours in your office Monday through Friday. Please use Monday to notify your clerks/PMRs of these changes, and adjust your schedule accordingly.
The significant downturn in volume and revenues and our overall economic conditions requires this action. I will be calling each office on Monday to discuss these changes. There is opportunity for your clerks to get hours in other offices…we can discuss those opportunities on Monday.
This requirement is going to force each office to make changes especially on how you handle standard mail. I recommend that you do not sort any standard mail in the morning, and work the standard sortation into your day once the carriers leave. You may want to change your PO Box up time to 11 AM, and adjust the opening of your lobby. This may require your rural carriers to start a little later.
